So you’ve got Big Boobs.

I remember in primary school my Mum taking me to get my first bra, I was 11… and wore a C cup. By the time I was in year 9 I was a DD, and I left school two years ago I was an F cup (ish). So I’ve pretty much spend my whole life with big boobs, and I’ve gone through the motions, from embarrassed girl trying to hide them, to realising that I could be the only year 9 girl getting the attention of the sixth form boys, and thus getting them out at every occasion, to now totally acceptance that no matter what happens in my life I can always say I have an epic rack. No one in my family has my assets shall we say, so as far as dressing goes I’ve had to learn a few things on my own and whenever I watch those ‘how to look good naked’, ‘what not to wear’ makeover shows I just get really angry at the same dated crap that gets spouted at these poor women, especially the younger girls on those shows. So I wanted to give my own advice first hand advice on dressing when you’ve got big boobs.

Fashion Mavericks

1. Its only clothes people! Fashion is fun, remember that some people loose all perspective on clothes when they’re shopping. Its only window dressing people it whats underneath that matters so have fun, express yourself and stop worrying about the rules  and just wear what you like… the people who we call fashion icons are not the ones in nice pair of jeans or the ‘nipped in waist’ its the people who enjoy their clothes.

2. Get a bra that fits. This means no back fat, no four boobs, no strap marks… etc, the general rule is the bra should fit snugly, the center panel should be up against your torso and you should only be able to fit one finger between the clasp of your bra and your back. Also aim for the bra to fit properly on the loosest catch bras often slacken up with time so it helps if you  can adjust them. For cheaper bras I personally think Primark are really good!

3. Blouses are not your Friend! Most tend to either gap across your chest or hang like a tent. Generally the simpler the top the better it will look.  If for whatever reason you do need a shirt I recommend there clothes sizes work by looking at your size disregarding your boobs, and then a separate size taking them into account for instance you might be a size 8 – really curvy. That being said I do have a few that are tight across my chest that I save for underneath jumpers, and if you read my last post you’d see that every now and again you might just find that shirt that fits. In my experience it tends to be the more casual styles that fit better.

4. Ditch the waist belt – now this might just be a personal thing that if I have to watch Gok Wan ‘cinch in’ another waist I’ll scream, but seriously this is the trend that won’t die. You don’t always have to ‘show off your curves’ chances are if you’ve got them people will already have noticed them have a look at Marilyn Monroe’s pictures, I see a waist but very rarely do I see a belt.

5. That being said try to avoid the tents, shifts, babydoll dresses/tops essentially anything that drapes from your boobs is never really going to be an amazing look, as its going to take its shape from the largest part of your body. However once again there are always exceptions to the rule if you see a dress you love in one of those shapes – try it on whats the worst that can happen!

6. Don’t try to cover them up. This isn’t making it fair game to dress like a slag, but you have big boobs, people will always be able to tell, trust me I was in a Church of England school uniform: tie, jumper the works and people could STILL tell I had big boobs. Your boobs are big, wearing a turtle neck won’t change that I will just make you look frumpy and big boobed so accept that and move on. However you might want to steer clear of the VERY low-cut, it takes a lot less of plunge in the neckline for us to look like slags than it does a flatter chested girl.

7. Sometimes its better to have a bit of bra showing than saggy boobs, or a poorly  fitted one. If you can’t find a strapless, low back bra whatever that fits you right just wear one with nice straps. Carrie Bradshaw practically made a career out of it!

I think this is the most important thing of all, just have fun with your clothes, ignore all the stupid rules out there, as I said in number one there only clothes. There is more to fashion than making your waist look as small as physically possible, if you have big hips so what whack on a bandage dress and ROCK them, Big boobs were them, you only live once! Be proud of what you’ve got. I think the problem with all these makeover shows is that they put us all into this uniform claiming that a ‘funky top’ shows off personal style. You like masculine clothes great – so does Erin O’Connor, You like dressing grungy – so does the Olsen twins. You have no ‘curves’ – am pretty sure that’s why twiggy was famous, and if you want to dress prim and proper then more power to you!

Ultimately what I’m saying is – if your stuck here is some tips that I have learned but the most important one has being to not give a fuck about my boobs, and just wear what ever the hell I like. Because fitting in is for wimps.

Just a few details from an outfit I wore recently, I still don’t have a proper camera … or any friends to take a picture of me in full… so if anybody wants to be my friend !

This is a pretty standard outfit and is one of my go to basic looks, so I shan’t pretend its anything special but I thought it looked quite cute and had  a few sweet details… and I actually remembered to take a picture of an outfit for once so YAY.

My Lovely ‘I really want Jeffery Campbell’s but they’re £200 and these are only £30’ shoes. To give them there full title. They were a real bargain and I think look really good for the price – there from if your interested.

As you can see pretty standard really, but a long denim shirt teamed with my go to black leggings. Before I left I also added a necklace to finish the neckline.

Also I did my hair in Heidi braids… I also find if I”m wearing something really rather ordinary if I do something fun with my hair, normally simple though as I’m not a genius with hair, then my outfit just always looks a little bit more unique and fun.

My Skincare

I have no idea really why I’m writing this post in all honsety I just thought I should write something haha!

OK, so, first off a little about my skin type – I have rather oily skin, not excessively though I’m not quite an oil slick- this is partly because I manage it well because my skin makes enough moisture and never feels tight I hardly ever moisturize it.

I do suffer from mild acne during my hormonal period, and as I’m sure many other people suffer with when I do get a pimple I have the scar there for months if not years later. In my few few years on earth I have also been through ALOT of products, and done a lot of research.

So in summary my skincare issues are refining pores, spot and scar reduction.

without further ado…

My morning skincare is the product that I vary the most at the moment its the St Ives blemish control scrub, mixed with the Good Things stay Clear purifying cleanser – adjust the ratio depending on my skin that day. However I find that if I use a product for too long its effects seem to stop and my spots return so I change it up quite frequently in the past I’ve used Simple, Johnson’s, Origins etc.

The Liz Earle cleanse and Polish is pretty much my holy grail product – I’ve been using it for about 8 years now. I double cleanse with it every night to remove my makeup/get the London of my skin. Unless its 5 in the morning and I’ve been out all night in which case – a face wipe will do.

I find it keeps my skin in really good condition overall – but I do need something a bit stronger to keep blemishes at bay.

Origins Brighter By Nature

I’ve only recently started using this product – with the hope

it will improve my scarring… so fingers crossed.

As stated earlier I don’t use any regular moisturizer so occasionally when my skin needs it I use the Liz Earle Intensive Treatment Mask … normally about once a month. I also use the Liz Earle Brightening Treatment Mask for nights out/ special occasions or mixed in with my cream cleanser when I’m not wearing any foundation  etc to give my skin that extra glow.

So thats it … everything I use

Inside my Make up Draw

To start of again sorry for the God awful camera work, as soon as I have some spare cash I’m buying myself a decent camera, also the lighting is appualling the problem with having a pink room and only being apply to take pictures at night  HOWEVER…..

As stated I’m home for the next few weeks, which meant I had to decide which of my (rather extensive) make up collection I wanted to take home aka what I couldn’t live without for the next 3 weeks. I would also like to make it clear that whilst I have no issue being seen without make up, these 3 weeks consist of various lunches, pub trips, shopping trips, nights out etc. and I do like to have my war paint on when in battle!

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Mont Blanc, Revlon Photo Ready Concealer in NO. 2, Nars Oil Free Primer, Clinque Loose Powder in 01, and Rimmel Stay Clear pressed (which I just use throughout the day and mostly on nights out).

Illamsaqua Blusher in Tremble a coral-ly pink shade, MAC blusher in Harmony for contouring, MAC Pearl Cream Colour Base as a highlight, Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch for under eye concealing

MAC paint pot in Blackground (a great base for smokey eyes) MAC Paint pot in Soft Ochre (a nice yellow toned base for eye make up) Benefit creaseless cream liner in sippin’ n dippin’ (a slightly shimmery neutral great for whacking on when you can’t be bothered with piles of eye shadow).

My go to Eye shadow quad, in Mulch, Club, Brule and Omega, aswell as the MAC Dashing lassies and the MAC’s last christmas quad whcih includes Soft Brown, Omega, Carbon. Also two individual eye shadows in Grand Entrance a light shimmery neutral and Smoke and Diamonds both MAC

Lipsticks (i’ve just taken a picture of swatches… I couldn’t see the point in pictures of tubes) but

No.17 in Hot chili, Dolce and Gabanna in Nude, MAC in Lady Danger, No17  Bella, Rimmel 1000 kisses stain in Endless blossom, and MAC cream sheen in Delight

if you couldn’t tell I just picked the lipsticks that would give me either a light neutral lip, or a bright orange/red lip perfect for summer

Mascaras, Liners, Pencils…

mascaras I brought Rimmel Glamin’ eyes (my go-to uber volumizing night out one), Two Face pinpoint in brown (a really light natural looking mascara.. which is essential to me being blonde my eyelashes have 0 colour naturally) Cargo triple action lash activator mascara – my standard everyday option .

Liners – Barry M Bold Waterproof pencil (btw this is AMAZING, it lasts forever on the waterline is blackest black very much like the avon supershock but way cheaper), Rimmel pencil liners in brown and white, boujour liquid liner black, and MAC lip pencil in Stone- I use it softly on the bottom of my lip to make them look bigger/more pout-y

I forgot to include MAC lip pencil in supculture and L’Oreal gel liner – which were still in my make – up bag

Recent Purchases.

So as of last week I realized I still had a rather significant amount of my student loans left over which meant I had to invest it wisely…. in more clothes. Hence my first ever Haul blog. I don’t by clothes in large quantities often so, hell yeah am going to show of!!

These pictures are awful by the way, they were all taken on my Iphone, I’m going to have to invest in a camera I fear.

Topshop Grey Midi dress

Topshop cream white lace midi dress… which is actually completely see-through oops, I’m going to have to buy another dress for underneath. it looks absolutely lovely though this picture does it no justice.

River Island cardigan which has a really lovely pastel shades running through it

River Island maxi-dress

Vintage Lumberjack  check shirt from petticoat lane vintage market in Liverpool NOT the London one

I Love these shoes, cream buckle shoes from Dr Martins

A few make-up purchases,  I repurchased my Nars Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc, Cargo lash activator triple action marscara which was 75% off in Boots so only cost £5!! and rimmel 1000 kisses lip stain

The Lip stain which is in the colour Endless Blossom a really pretty pink shade which will be great in the summer months

if you couldn’t tell by the  clearance sticker both of  these nails inc varnishes were on sale for £2.50, so I couldn’t resist (i’m a nail varnish obsessive if you didn’t know). There in the colours ‘Seven dials’ a bright apple green, and ‘Albert Place’ a pretty pale blue.

Hope this wasn’t too boring!

Inspiration 1

Just a collection of pictures featuring outfits that I love/find totally inspiring.

I love how the outfit above is made up of pastels and white lace, and is so completely girly yet still looks completely cool and relaxed.

Dorm Room Inspiration: BBT

Being a fresher in university and someone who is obsessive about the way their surroundings look poses several problems. Only living in university halls for a year and being confinued to the puke yellow and breezeblock walls aswell as the 30 year old grafitti covered furniture, before moving into whatever house me and my friends can find on our scarily limited budget means I don’t have a lot of scope interior design wise.

However inspiration has fallen in the shape of the big bang theory, in particular Penny’s room the mix of colours and different textures am pretty sure could give a lift to even the most vomit coloured of walls, and I adore the paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling … I’ve found similar at urban outfitters

So, as soon as I get back am ditching the current vaccines, horrors, and ladyhawke posters drowning my room   in black and taking a leaf from pennys book bright colours = happy. Cue the Pixies posters, coloured throws and adorable paper lanterns.

Spring Summer Outfit: vintage levis and Joy Division

The first outfit here is a bit edgier than previous posts have been but is definitely my personal style.  hope you like it.

The 90’s are definiatly back with vengence and what better way to celebrate than with a vintage pair of levi shorts. Personally I like to start with full jeans, and cut them myself to ensure they hit at just the right point on my legs to show them best – this is particularly good if you hate the top of your thighs!!

The T-shirt here is a mens Joy Division T-shirt from pulp clothing, my current favourite band. Any t-shirt would do here and using a mens one keeps things looking relaxed . Just tie a not in the back of the shirt  or tuck it into the shorts and make sure you roll up the sleeves so it doesn’t all look too bulky !

I’ve accessoried with a straw boater rather than a trilby and this great chain mail ring from cheap monday!!.

Also swap the DM’s for Hunter wellies for instant festival chic, knee high socks a must in both cases of course.

Some Spring/Summer favorites

Oh, wow, its been a while here…akward.

However it feels like summers here even though we are barely in spring. Nevertheless I can’t help but get excited about the prospects of summer dresses, pastel gorgeousness and sheer fabrics. So here we go my pick of some of my spring/summer essentials

These pastel leggings are the perfect way of getting the pastel trend into your spring wardrobe, and as you can see fits perfectly around my usual winter style especailly when there only £4.99 in NEW LOOK!!, and this gorgeous sheer jumper is perfect for the coolers spring/summer evenings.

I don’t think this maxi dress would need any accessories bar the lovely belt that it comes with paired with some gladiator sandals it would be great for weekend shopping trips with the girls and walking along the beachfront, and if you like me and never want to take off your bikini on holiday this would be perfect to slip over it while you go sightseeing.

I’m going to leave it here, now and come back with ANOTHER part 2 later on.
